Slopes of Santa Fe

A common misconception of Santa Fe and New Mexico is the climate. It is common to think of the wild west and visions of cowboys, horses, saloons and dirt. We are in the desert after all. However, northern New Mexico is the High Desert. Taos has become well known for it’s magical ski slopes but not everyone knows that here in Santa Fe we have our own set of beautiful mountains and ski activities just 15 minutes from the Plaza.

The Santa Fe Ski Area typically opens around Thanksgiving Day and is active until Easter Sunday.

With an array of trails for skiers of all levels and ages (we all love a bunny slope from time to time) plus the ever necessary midway stop to fuel up on a burger and a beverage!

Santa Fe is not just a destination for those looking for hiking and summer markets! It’s a great place to snow shoe, ski and take a spa day at another local gem (to be mentioned later in another post as a apres ski day!)
